Mike O'Haire is a self taught artist working mainly in oils, occasionally in colored pencil. He has a fondness for landscapes of old buildings and obscure city streets painted in his own unique impressionistic realism style. As you look through his gallery at the work, you will see paintings so realistic they look like photos and others that are loosely compiled of impressionistic strokes.

I find myself returning to the beginning of Art, Painting.

The simplest equation:

Pigment, Oil, Brush and Canvas.

Also the world around me. Seeing how the light reflects into the shadows of life. I see not black but deep rich tones of purple, blue and green... By eliminating black from the equation, I give my paintings that rich quality of life that you may not even realize exist until you truly look around and see what the shadows of life hold.
